It looks as if Chromeo is holding auditions for serious lady dancers in this video for “Night by Night.” But the question is, Auditions for what? Perhaps they are auditions for this very same video, and if so, this is a pretty clever ruse, Chromeo. But why does Dave 1 get to have all of the fun while P-Thugg mans the synths? I’m Just saying.

FX has ordered a second season of “Archer,” the animated spy series that kicks the teeth in of almost any other sitcom on television. Good news: the second season will have 13 episodes, up from this season’s 10. Bad news: we gotta wait until 2011 for the new season to start. From the press release, via TV by the Numbers.
Allow me to take a step back for the bigger picture here. When writing about various TV series, I try to allow for the fact that people have widely varying tastes in comedy. But let me tell you something: if you don’t think “Archer’s” funny, it’s not the show’s fault; it’s yours. People who don’t like “Archer” are like people who don’t drink coffee or booze: they’re boring to talk to and shouldn’t be trusted.

I’ve never posted any celebrity photos on my blog before but when my home-girl Sasha, knowing how much of a jones I have for Scarlette Johanson, sent me these photos I couldn’t resist to set the president. Whether it’s getting saved by her Bulgarian bodyguard, designing handbags, or posing for sexy pictures of herself Scarlett Johansson manages to do it all in stride. Recently, Johansson has been Mango’s go-to girl for both product design and print modeling. Indulge with her latest Spring x Summer 2010 campaign for Mango.

My boy, music conesuer Percy Isaac’s, inspired me to post this entryon Radio English. To me Daniel Merriweather embodies the deffinition of a soul singer. Not just because his music is fashioned in that manner but because his voice is so damn expressive. Produced by Mark Ronson, his socially conscious track “Change” featuring Wale, is backed by some dope instrumentation provided by of one my favorite bands The Dap Kings (Shout outs to Dave Guy and the entire Everyday Wonder Fam). If your a fan of contemporary soul music be sure to downlod his album “Love & War” here on Itunes after you watch this video. I guarantee you wont be disappointed.

To prepare for Meth, Ghost & Rae’s upcoming Wu-Massacre album, which drops March 30, Def Jam linked up with Wu Tang DJ/producer Mathematics for a promotional mixtape. If this were 2005, Me and DJ Super Juice would have probably bought two copies of this mixtape each at Kim’s before it got raided. But now I’m downloading it on the internet and sharing it with you. The mix was primarily meant for us to get excited/reminded about the chemistry these dudes have. It also works as a great career retrospective. In addition to the classic stuff, it also includes solo clips from guest verses on other people’s albums, including Ghostface’s ridiculous, breathless turn on Cormega’s “Tony Montana.” You’ve probably heard most of this before, but there are enough exclusives to make it worth the download. Its definitely a must have for all Wu-Tang fans. Enjoy and tell all your peeps you got it here first here at They Call Me English.
And always remember: “Wu-Tang is for the Children!!”

Quality cameras are about to get a whole lot smaller. Sony has revealed its plans for 2010, and alongside updates to the DSLR line comes a new interchangeable-lens compact to compete against the Micro Four Thirds format. Sony is using a larger APS-C sensor, the size seen in most DSLRs. The new compact α (alpha) DSLR camera system is now capable of providing full AVCHD video capability!! This means the growing trend of shooting video content with still cameras ans lenses is about to get alot more popular. I wonder what Nikon and Cannon are going to do to compete with this??

This Viral Video Animation is dedicated to my good friend, actress Tamara Dhia. On her blog, Tams Concrete Canvas, she curates a section entitled Another Dope Animation which features nothing other than Dope Animations. While clicking through it today, I was inspired to post this Dope Animation by graphic design artist and animator Jamie Bell. Consisting of 2100 pages, 50 jotter books and 3 weeks of work, It’s easily one of the most entertaining hand drawn flip book animations I’ve come ever across. Enjoy.
