Superb, Clever and insightful. This video was prepared by the UK branch of Dorling Kindersley Books and produced by Khaki Films. Originally meant solely for a DK sales conference, the video was such a hit internally that it is now being shared externally. Its Good to see publishers are fighting back. I’m a huge fan of reading myself and I understand how important books are and will be to future generations in whatever way they are delivered. I hate to hear marketers say books are dead when I look around me and my friends are reading more than ever.

Having taken up residency in the upper echelons of 2009’s end-of-year charts, The XX enter into the new year with the release of ‘VCR‘, one of the sweeter pop tracks off their acclaimed debut. While much of the album has a certain nocturnal allure to it, this single has a much more upbeat temperament to it.

As a Belvedere man I have to admit that Absolut is not my very vodka. But as a marketer and producer I do appreciate the fact they understand what branded content can be for a spirit brand trying to connect to the lifestyle of their consumers. Continuing to collaborate with creative visionaries, ABSOLUT Vodka presents this new 15-minute short film featuring Jay-Z. The documentary, titled NY-Z, was directed by Danny Clinch and paints a rare portrait of the global hip-hop icon. With unprecedented access to Jay-Z the days and moments leading up to, and after, his legendary September 11th benefit concert at Madison Square Garden, Danny Clinch gives us an intimate glimpse into Jay-Z: his childhood, his motivation as an artist, his passion for music, and his muse, New York. Truly Dope. Enjoy.

“Head On” is a wonderful short film that my friend Sara showed me recently. It was shot on the RED camera and incorporates some really great post effects. The film is about a young boy using his imagination to communicate with a young girl while riding on the train. I think the story is a great and the story behind the project is just as cool. Below, the director Michael Korebel explains the circumstances that lead him to directing the project and the production line he used to create it. Watch and enjoy.

“…how I came to direct the project was a “right place at the right time” kind of story. I attend USC’s School of Cinematic Arts and Steven Spielberg came to the Dean of the cinema school and asked if there were any students that would be interested in putting visuals to a song that he had “found” – I was essentially e-mailed an mp3 that was named “Head On.” That’s about all there is to it – I brainstormed a ton of ideas, and collaborated with some good friends, and a story about imagination and kids really seemed right. I was given the opportunity, pulled together a team quickly, and got it done in 10 days (including 32 VFX shots). It was delivered to Spielberg’s office shortly after completion..” Michael Korebel

Digital meets Analog. Contexture Design is Nathan Lee and Trevor Coghill. The design duo’s work emphasizes simple, elegant and sustainable design, and is often inspired by reclaimed materials with historical, cultural or environmental significance. Their Limited edition 45 Nano Cases are made from reclaimed cassette tapes, gutted, routered and rebuilt to fit your iPod nano. Dope!!

Can anything overpower The Axe Effect? This brand new spot by Specsavers designer glasses answers the question. The concept of the ad may have been more relevant two years ago but you have to appreciate any commercial that gathers this many cute girls in bikinis.

TimWestwoodTv: Eminem|Alchemist|Kon Artist Freestyle Video
Recently my boy Al Dhia put me on to this dope Tim Westwood Video. It features Eminem and his fellow D12 member, Kon Artist, spitting some fire verses over beats provided by Alchemist. Em’ has long been a favorite of mine, but listening to these verses reminded me why the intricacy of his word play, twisted imagination and polished delivery is unparalleled by most rappers. Hands down he’s way nicer than Lil’ Wayne, Drake doesn’t stand a chance, Jay is his only competition and Kanye is lucky they’re friends. Yeah, I said it…
“…I’m Checking The Exposure Of Photos Of Me Exposing.
My Self Locked In Side Of A Cosy Hotel Posing.
With Or With Out Clothing.
Next To The Decomposing.
Bodys Eroding. While Im Dosing Of Over Dosing.
Windows Open And Shutting.
Doors Open And Closing.
I Think Its A Ghost. Too much Hydrocodone And Codine.
I Was Only Spose To Swallow A Half. I Took The Whole Thing.
Im Not Joking. I Think I Just Snorting My Nose Ring…” -Eminem

As is if Google wasn’t everywhere already, they are now positioning themselves to take over televisions. Google has teamed up with Sony and Intel, and the three companies will be releasing the Google TV. Google TV, will be made by Sony, powered by the Intel chips and will run Googles Android OS.
The TV project, according to the New York Times, is still under wraps, but that hasn’t stopped the details from leaking. The GTV will be based on the Android OS, and come in the form of both a set-top box and actual TV-sets. There will be regular television, of course, but also Hulu, YouTube and other web-video sources, as well as games and apps for social networking.
This is a large step for for the further proliferation of web content on our televisions.

Nothing will ever make you look quite as cool as owning a handgun flash drive. Sure, you can’t take it in most places but At least you’ll look tough though. The drive itself won’t shoot anyone, but you might be able to fend off the dumbest criminals of the world. Hidden within the handle itself is where you’ll find the USB port you need. On that drive you can store up to 4GB of pictures and documents. That’ll give plenty of room, especially for the price you’ll pay. The drive will only cost you $22 through USB Geek.

This is the most obscene use of vulgarity used in a video since the early 90’s!!!… Reggie Watts promotes his upcoming Comedy Central special and the release of his CD/DVD, Why Shit So Crazy, with an intensifier adjective music video for his song “Fuck Shit Stack.”
